Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival - Gangtok: Pick up from Bhudrapur airport/Badogra / NJP Station. Meet the guide at the airport. Meet the guide at the airport and drive to Gangtok. (126 km / 05 hrs.). Overnight hotel.

Day 02: Gangtok: Early morning sightseeing of Rumtek Monastery-the principal seat of Karma pa out of Tibet and the largest one in Sikkim, and go to Kanchejunga View Point, Drul-Chorten , Sikkim Research Institute of Tibet logy, handicraft centers and check in hotel at Gangtok.. Evening Free to explore Gangtok.

DAY 03 : Gangtok-Pemayantse: After Breakfast transfer from Gangtok to Pemayangtse (116 kms / 05 hrs). via Sikkim Temi Tea Garden and on the way Rabangla arrive Pemayantse Check in hotel. Evening take a pleasant walk enjoying the sun set over Mt. Khangchendzonga. Stay

DAY 04 : PELLING - YUKSOM After breakfast we drive to Yuksom (35 Km / 02Hrs) on way visit Khecheopalri Lake, Khecheopalri Lake is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake wherever it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true. Myth has its that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface is picked by a bird. A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks)- the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 05 : YUKSOM Early morning 35 minutes moderate walk to Dhubdi Monastery (built in 1700 AD, the oldest monastery of Sikkim) and Tashi Namgyal (the stone throne for the first king). Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 06 : YUKSOM - KALIMPONG After breakfast today transfer to Kalimpong (85 Kms/ 4 Hrs). Check in at Hotel. Evening visit to Flower Nurseries, Durbin Dara Hills & Durbin Monastery. Over Night at Hotel.

DAY 07 : KALIMPONG Here you do the sightseeing of Dello hills, Dr. Graham’s Home, Flower Nurseries, Nature Interpretation Center and Durbin Dara Hills & Jang-Dong-Palriffo Brang. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 08 : KALIMPONG - DARJEELING Transfer to Darjeeling (70 kms / 3 hrs.). Overnight at Hotel. OPTIONAL RAFTING ON THE WAY.

DAY 09: DARJEELING Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gombu. Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 10: Darjeeling
Departure: Early morning, drive to your destination either Bhudrapur Airport or Bagdogra Airport/ NJP Station Trips ends!

NOTE: If you wear glasses, it is advisable to bring a spare pair since opticians are uncommon. If you wear contact lenses you may find that climatic changes and dust can create visual irritation, therefore, it is advisable to bring a pair of glasses.

Trip Info

Darjeeling and Sikkim are located at an average elevation of 2,050m. The hills are part of the Mahabharat range or lesser Himalayan. The average temperature swings from 24 degrees Celsius in the plains and descents below 12 degrees Celsius on the elevated areas In Darjeeling. Talking about Sikkim, the entire state is hilly, with the elevation ranging from 280 m to 8,585 m. So, particularly you should be carrying warmer clothes when visiting to these places. Vaccinations: No vaccinations are compulsory unless coming from a yellow fever infected region but we do recommend you are covered for: *diphtheria & TB, hepatitis A, *hepatitis B, *malaria, typhoid, polio and tetanus. NB* a Yellow Fever certificate is required if arriving from infected areas.

For traveling in the countryside and remote areas, immune globulin is also recommended to combat hepatitis A. We advise you to bring along a supply of antibiotics, an anti-diarrhea agent, and any other prescription drugs required by your current medical conditions.

Vaccination requirements are subject to change and should be confirmed before departure.You may need additional inoculations so please contact your GP or a travel medical centre for further information. Please consult your doctor for up-to-date information and prescriptions for vaccinations, anti-malarial requirements and any reasonably foreseeable illnesses whilst traveling into Asia.

Note: Please don’t forget to do over all check up with your Doctor & get advice whether your health permit or not to go into the region.

Medical Supplies

We advise that all passengers bring along their own personal first aid kit. Below is a list of some recommended items:

Band aids/bandages, laxatives, upset stomach remedy, anti-diarrhea remedy, Panadol/Aspirin, rehydration remedy, antiseptic cream/powder, sterile dressings, any relevant course of medication such as contraceptive pills.

Currency: The official currency is in Indian Rupee, The most commonly use symbol for Rupee is INR or Rs. One Rupee’s is divided into 100 Paisa.  There are coins for denominations of one, two, five and ten rupees and bank notes in denominations of 1,2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rupees.

Accommodations: We have put a lot of thought and effort into locating the most appropriate type of accommodation for each tour. It must be clean, comfortable and of a very high standard. Sikkim and Darjeeling are arguably the most famous tourist destination in the entire eastern Himalaya. The place offers great accommodation with excellent service and facilities.

Money Exchange:It is always preferable to carry your money safely and either with credit card | Master Card or Traveler Cheque. Banks are the reliable centers, where you can convert your money or encash traveler's cheques. You can always refer to the fore rates and get the maximum out of your money. Here is list of banks that act as currency converters in Sikkim: Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, State Bank of India and more. You can also draw the local currency from the ATM at some place.

Language: Nepalis, Lepchas, and minor size of Bhutias and Limbus are the major communities in Sikkim. Nepalis speak Nepali, Lepchas speak Lepacha language where as Bhutias speak Sikkim language. Furthermore, the Nepali community of Sikkim is a mixture of various castes and a highly stratified society, speaking their own dialect and having a culture of their own.

Visa requirement: Sikkim is still a restricted area and one still requires a special inner line permit to enter Sikkim along with your Indian visa. You only require a valid Indian visa to visit Darjeeling, Assam and Meghalaya, whereas a special inner line permit is required to visit Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Manipur. Foreigners are still not permitted to enter Nagaland and Tripura.  You may obtain the Sikkim permit from the Indian missions at your respective countries and have it endorsed on your Indian visa informing them that you will be traveling to Sikkim. If you are still not capable to get your permit to enter Sikkim for any reason, you may get a temporary two days permit at the Sikkim-Bengal border (Rangpo) and extend it at Gangtok Sikkim.

Climate: Darjeeling has a temperate climate and the favorable season to visit the place is from September to June. In winters (December to January) the region has a cool climate within the average range of 5 °C to 7 °C. Minimum temperature during this season can be freezing –2 °C. Snowfalls are not common during winters. The spring season is excellent time to visit from March to May; The Raining season starts from the middle of June till the half of September. Autumn season in Sikkim is extended from half of September to Middle of November which is considered as a best season to visit across the state.

Water: You should not drink the water from the tap in Nepal because of bacteria.
You can either use water purification or buy the bottle of water. Now a day, some people are bringing their own water filter which is very impressive & useful.

Photography: Photography is on of the important part of the holiday that carries the memory of holiday in the photos.  Please remember, we are guests in the countries through which we travel and we may sometimes inadvertently cause offence by taking photographs without first asking permission.
It is absolutely forbidden by law to take photos at any borders, as they are all active military installation.
